Brake Boost
so i was talking to a buddy of mine who was explaining to me how turbo'd cars can brake boost .. (driving holding down the accelerator to build up boost, but with your foot on the break to not actually go faster, and then releasing the brake )
and I was curious, does Audi have a safety feature to avoid this? i tried it several times and it wouldnt work for me, so is it something im doing wrong or is it the car itself that restricts it? its a b5 1.8t quattro 5 speed btw...
oh and if it is a restrcition, anyone know a way to bypass it?

all you are doing is giving the engine resistance so you can provide more gas without more RPM's creating boost.
if you have an 01 and00 i believe, you cant. becuase it is drive by wire (DBW) the computer wont let you gas and break at the same time

Why would you have a problem with boosting? From a stop you drop it higher while rolling you downshift. turbo lag shouldn't be a consern with a stick you can either be in the boost or not you don't need brakes to do it. Brake boosting is for automatics.
