brake click.
I have a 2003 A4 1.8T. when braking from anything under 15 or 20 mph i'm getting a single click sound from the drivers side wheel. i can repeat the sound a time or two as i'm braking by hitting the brake again. it is fairly intermittent at other speeds, but living in LA i pretty much spend all my time at those speeds. it's driving me crazy. any ideas?
I had the same problem for a long time. Everytime i went to look in the wheel well i couldnt figure it out until i got mad and started banging on stuff.(smart i know) Neways, i found out that the brake pad it self was loose and would rattle around while i drove. But it would "click" back into place when the brakes were applied. So check the brake pads...you won't know just by looking at it...so you'll have to take the caliper off. Hopefully thats what it is otherwise i dont know. Also, if it is the pads make sure you clean the part of the caliper were the pad sits very well otherwise it'll happen again. You might also wanna replace the rotors depends if its jacked or not.
