Default brake issue - help please

We have a 2001 Audi A4 Quatro 1.8Turbo.

After the car sits overnight the brakes are very soft. You drive for a block or so and they are fine. Wondered if anyone has ever had this problem and found a fix for it?

Thanks,

Larry

Default brakes binding

I've got a 2001 a6 2.7t quattro. I was driving down the road when the brakes started to slowly compress without me touching the brake pedal. It got to the point where it wouldn't move before I made it home. I let it sit for about an hour and the brakes finally released. But within the 5 blocks I had to drive to get home, they compressed again, brake pedal and all. Again, I never touched the brake pedal with my foot. Any suggestions?

OP it sounds like you might have a vacuum leak. Do you have a boost gauge? If so, what does it read at idle? If you don't have a boost gauge, do a vacuum test to see how much vacuum the engine has at idle and if it leaks out once the engine stops.
