Default brake pad sensor question

hey, I bought a set of front and rear brake pads(without sensors) for for my 2000 A4 a few months ago for spare backup. I recently found out that my current pads do have sensors. When my current pads need changing, can I use the spare one that I have in stock. Would there be problems warning sensors lighting up?

you just need to loop the sensor... most people who use better pads have to do this.. you just wire it in a loop so it fools the sensor....

there really isnt a sensor but a metal contact on the pad that makes an electrical loop and when the pad wears low, it breaks the connection triggering the "sensor"

cut the wires on your old pads, splice those 2 wires together and plug it into the harness on the car and you'll be all good.

[:-]that will make the light come on ( break pad wear indicator has a plastic cap and when they wear down the cap is obliterated and continuity is seen by the wires making a circuit which puts the light on ) mind you im an old fart so things might have changed

hiwords is correct. I put an ohm meter across the connectors
on my new pads. It read 0 ohms.

the light comes on when there is an open in the circuit.

since you do not have pad wires... all you do is take a staple, bend it in a 'U' and insert it in the 2 pinson the connector and wrap tape around it.
