Default Brakes

Hi,

I brought my car in today to the Audi dealer and was told I will need to replace my front brakes "very soon".
They quoted me $600 for parts and labor. My question is, do you guys recommended I get this fix at the dealer?
Would youguys trustMidas, Meinakeor any of the brakes shopsto do qualitywork?? If so, which wouldyou recommend?

Thank you very much for your inputs!

I should had mentioned that I'm not mecanically inclined at all. I don'teven have the tools, time, or know-how to get started.
I admire you guys for being able to do all this work, but it's something I won't even mess with...LOL
Thanks a lot!

Thank you very much for your inputs!

any brake place can do it, but a 12 year old could do it (if he was strong enough). jack, hex key, socket wrench, clamp, flat head screwdriver, and 30 minutes of your time and its done

I spent $300 doing mine myself and i even upgraded to Brembo rotors

Although in your case i would say go to some of those cheaper places and check there shops out, if they are typical knuckle head types who have only ever worked on fords and chevys then i would say be safe and spend the extra money(i know its so much easier to say but in the long run you save) Go ask them if they have ever worked on Audi's or mercedes or BMW's (if they say "ya we can work on them" tell them "NO! have you ever actually WORKED on them") Just be smart if there just a bunch of kids running around with wrenches then go elsewhere

for the price of the change, you could buy the tools to DIY and save a lot of money

ohhh the ignorance.... Its about how other people respect your car. When some dumbass with a GED can get hired at one of those discount shops they dont "care" about your car. They just try to get **** done quickly. And especially when they are working on a high end car you better believe the thought crosses there mind to go for a little joy ride in your car since the fastest **** they ever seen is there buddies honda. Trust me its happened to me before. Its not about the brakes its about some retard joy riding your car around town for 2 hours.
