breaking in clutch
I had a ecs stage 1 clutch put in my car recently and was told by the tech to take it easy which I think i have been doing. try not to go over 3.5k and only hit 4.5 twice, no hard launches or shifts. I'm wondering if new clutches slip before they are broken in. Sometimes when i get up closer to 3-3.5k under moderate acceleration the car will bump or jerk a little and my guess is that it's slipping a little. When it does this it doesn't last long and i always back off right when i feel it. is this common and is there a point where it usually goes away? i'm almost positive i haven't done anything wrong to the clutch. sorry if this was explained anywhere i'm new and did a search but didn't get solid answers.
I know that you are supposed to take it easy on the clutch during the break in period
does it only slip when you give it a good bit of throttle, or is it also slipping when you gradually accelerate up to higher rpm's?
I would go easy on your clutch for about 1k miles or approx 3 tanks of gas, then beat on it a bit, if it still slips than it was installed improperly
how many miles have you put on the new clutch?
you may want to contact the person who installed it and give him/her a heads up...

yea i had an ecs stage 2 clutch and it did jerked and slipped a bit. only for a little while... but it only lasted me about a year... and now i have a spec stage 3 and it was the same way in the beginning. its nice now tho.. i liked the ecs more tho.
how much did it cost to replace the clutch on your car, parts and labour. just out of curiosity, i may need a new clutch soon unless ic an sell my car and even then i dont know if im going to settle for a stick or auto.(no flaming!!!!)
