Default breaking a tire bead

Anyone have a trick for breaking the bead on old tires?

I used to ba able to just jump on the tire and it would release but I just cant seem to get these darn things off.

They're 18in wheels with 225's around them.

you talking about removing the tire from the wheel, or the wheel from the car?

My friend and I used to debead his tires on his truck to change out the big off road tires for regular truck tires this way, you have to start with the wheel you want the tire off of, off the car. We would then jack the car up so that you could fit the tire under one of the other car tires, you can also use the brake rotor with like a 2x4, So you don't scratch up the side wall. then place the weight right as close to the bead as posible, and lower the car, worked every time for us, but as I said before, I would take it somewhere.

somehow that doesnt seem like a good idea to me, maybe ill have to take it somewhere or try and get someone to do it for free. There's only about 2in of tire and I think if i let my car down on it it would shoot out from under there.

Thanks
