broken intake vacuum fitting

Default broken intake vacuum fitting

i broke the vacuum fitting on my intake trying to replace the line. does anyone know how i could fix this myself if possible or am i going to have to buy a whole new intake maifold? car is a 98 a4 1.8t Q

it the one that goes to the DV there are two of them the other if for the fpr.

Well I don't know how it's broken so I don't know what to tell you. If it is just the fitting, then you can get a new fitting and put it in. If it broke out of the intake manifold then you have more of a problem, that might take a heli-coil to fix, or re-welding. Try to put a pic.

i broke it off flush with the manifold. so first i need to know how to get it out. then find a replacment one and put it in. are they threaded or just pressed in?

Go to a dealer's parts Dept. Show them the broken part. They'll
sell you a new part if available.

If the broken piece has six sides for a wrench then it's most likely threaded in. So go to home depot and get a bolt extractor. It's a drill bit that runs in reverse, so when you drill it into the broken piece it catches and unscrews the stuck piece. If it's pressed in then you will probably have to have a shop do it.
