Has Anyone ever tried these out - are they a lot brighter or is it a waste of $$

No, but im glad you posted this cause i was looking for that style bulb. Thats what is used inour front and rear map lights. The dome lights are festoon style, as well and the step lights in the doors and the plate lights in the rear.I replaced all the festoon lights w/ 9-16 led bulbs in "superwhite" and it looks great. They are "supposed" to last atleast 5 times longer than the OEM bulbs. Ill post pics this weekend if you want.

 

Well, these one's would be for break lights, I've seen some of the super white interior lights and they do look good
