yes you will need a alignment and headlights-it depends on you and how much the new coils changed the angle and range of your lights but he's not lying.

600 sounds expensive but i've never priced these things. do it yourself and save some bucks

you do have new shocks too right? otherwise you will be paying again for install and alightment. I would call bs on the $600 but you WILL need an alighment after which is like $100. w/ a drop of 1.3 i think the headlights will be fine.

wheel alignment??? why your only changing the springs and 1" is nothing, just keep an eye on tyre wear on the front then if it wears a lot then get the tracking done

Why run the risk of wearing out $600+ in tires in 10k miles just because you didn't want to put out $100 for an alignment. Maybe it all goes back close and will be ok, but any change in your suspension geometry can cause alignment problems.

Also, doesn't changing out the springs involve popping at least three of the control arms on each front wheel? Not to mention the rear and the use of a spring compressor. Having battled with a DIY full front control arm replacement, $600 doesn't sound unreasonable to me for all four wheels including the alignment and head light adjustment. With proper tools and a lift, one hour labor per wheel at $80/hr is $320 plus $100 for alignment. Your in the ball park.

Make sure that guy who said $250 knows what he is doing. I wouldn't touch your car for only $250.
