ok but what do they look like do you have to have the bumper off in order to get to them? are they the things that run from the front to the back of the engine bay? I'm guessing not cause mine have 4 bolts and they are allen keys

It should be a torx bit, and one has three and the other has 3 and i think a 13mm bolt. They are what holds your bumper onto the front end of your car. You have to take the bumper off to get to them.

sweet pic bro but i still need an explanation. I will be able to get instructions to get the bumper off from audiworld tech but in the pic are they the black things sticking out that look like sideways t's? and when i loosen those then the metal pipe that runs along the bottom of the radiator will be able to swing out enough for me to slip the mount off and put the new one on?

greatly appreciated guys!

ohh your installing a snub mount. You dont have to fully remove the mounts just loosen it quite a bit and you can pull the whole bottom out enough to get the snub out.

ok cool! yeah i had the basket off today... I tried every angle I was gonna try to squeeze it but theres a belt right above it and didnt want to screw with that... but it needed about another inch... why did they make it so hard to replace???!!! haha so loosen those and pull out the bottom and i'll be able to swap em out? if so sweet! the directions apr gives must be for a different car cause they make no sense to me at all B6?

thanks trailboss...

ok so I found this write up http://goapr.com/Audi/support/snub_mount.pdf

that makes more sense but do I really have to do all of these steps? (drain washer fluid etc.) or just remove bumper and loosen bumper shocks to slide spindle out and swap snubs? preeeeeesh!
