Default Burning oil?

I am new to the forums but I have a 2000 audi a4 1.8t quattro and when i accelerate hard in my car it smokes out of the exhaust. I am not for sure what this is. Also sometimes when i am driving at low rpm the engine will seem to cut out or have a miss but if i down shift and run in higher rpms it doesnt do it anymore. Please help with this thanks Robert

If the smoke is blue, it's oil.

looks like your turbo is gettin bad, do you have any weir noise when your driving? Does the car feels like have a full boost? this are some of the symtoms when the turbos are given up. or maybe your valve stem seal are gettin bad, you can remove your spark plugs and check if is any oil on them.

ya blue smoke usually means u are burning oil. this could be caused by a number of reasons. if it smokes at startup and then stops then its most likely the valve seals. If it all the time then you may need new rings or oil is leaking into the turbo. the k03's tend to leak in their old age through their seals and into the exhaust. an easy fix would be to switch to a high mileage oil but that wont definitely work all the time. if that doesn't do it go get the seals and rings checked out
