hey guys, I'm new to audi forums. I've always been a fan of audis and volkswagens and the time has finally come for me to buy one. I was looking at a 2000 s4 with 70,000 miles. I can buy a warranty for up to 120,000 and get it serviced at any european car dealership. The volkswagen dealership is asking $17,000. I asked a friend of mine who is an audi dealer if it was a good deal or not. He said he was a fan of s4's, but then he offered for me to buy his 2002 a4. He has done the following things to it:

17� BBS “RC� wheels
18� Speedline 2210 2-Piece forged wheels
REVO performance software
Forge “007� Diverter Valve
Stage 3 Southbend “OFE� clutch
Brand new OEM flywheel
New Brakes (within the last 10,000 miles)

I was wondering what some opinions were on what car would be best for me.

Depends on the price. Clearl we are fans of Audi's. that is why we own them. The cars are relaiable, but are not "drive and forget it" cars like Hondas. They are complex cars and cost a lot to maintain.

 

17 seems like a fair price. as long as its in good shape! but get that warranty cause you will crap when you find out how much a seal or a problem can cost! but the S4 is a reliable car and engine. should be fine! i say go for the s4. UNLESS ITS A TIPTRONIC! haha jk

 

He's probably going to sell you his A4, then go by the S4 you tipped him off about!

 

haha, yeah, he actually told me about a guy moving to france who was selling his s4 for cheap because it cost too much to ship it. he said he wanted to buy it. hmmmm.... hidden agenda?
