Default Buying New Wheels

When buying new wheels are there any particular companies you all would recommend and are there any to stay away from. Right now I like the Audi stock look so was looking at trying to get the RS4 rims, but I also like some of the HRE or enkei offerings. What would you all recommend and how should I go about this? I have a 2005.5 A4 with sport suspension. Your thoughts are apprecieated.

It totally depends on your price range. I'm guessing you're looking for 18x8, 18x8.5, 19x8, or 19x8.5 for your car. Some wheel companies that offer nice offerings at a good price (150 to 250 per wheel) are AT Italia, Enkei, Privat, ADR, and ASA. ASA makes great-quality wheels (they have a partnership with BBS). At the mid-level (250 to 500 per wheel), you can look at Lexion, Mandrus, BBS [depending on size and style] and TSW (CD Design has a good deal on Lexions on the audizine forum). Then, at the high level (500 to 900 per wheel) are companies like HRE, Iforged, DPE, Kinesis, Maya, and BBS [depending on size and style]. The cool thing is that there are a variety of styles and finishes available at each level to satisfy your taste and budget. I've been looking for wheels for a couple years and I recently ordered a set myself. I hope this helped.

Yeah, that helps alot. It sort of puts it in perspective so I am not just looking at different companies and wondering what the hell. Thanks again!

Hey, I just wanted to let you know, I bought some reproduction RS4 wheels from Lakeshore Wheel and Tire...they have great prices, great products, and they were like $850 for all four shipped, check them out, they look great on the car and they are great quality rims. I had the Enkie RMPII's on my 01' S4 and I like these better!

Thanks again, I really appreciate your input. What kind of effect will going from stock wheels to aftermarket have on the ride characteristics of the vehicle.

It totally depends on your price range. (150 to 250 per wheel) are AT Italia
AT Italia's at what price? I am looking at a set for over $400? They are called propellers. Look very nice. Wish they were only $250!

You wont find HREs for under 700/wheel let alone 850 shiped for all 4.

Also HREs and Enkei wheels are not even in the same ball bark when it comes to quality and design.

The price your willing to pay will force you to exclude most of the popular, high quality wheel manufacturers. Edgeracing normally has wheels in your price range though

What about OZ's? I have been looking at them as well. They can be around $400ish and up.
