A/C Evap Question
Can you please be a little bit more specific, i really don't want to screw this up... I will be changing it 2morrow... The rubber seal you speak of, is it part of the evaporator or part of the black casing around it? Thanks for all your help...
p.s. my car sure does look funny without a dash, I have been driving to work in back with my instrument cluster sitting on top of my steering wheel. I have to laugh at myself at timeshaha

Yeah its a big black rubber strap that is streched around the evaporator, Its pretty thick so its not very easy to rip it, its just there to insulate the evaporator so it cools effenciently, if you ripped it or forget to put it back in the cooling wouldn't be very good.
Okay, i have removed it and everything off... there is no black rubber around the evaporator (which maybe is why it went bad)... what could i warp it up with to keep it cold and protected?? any ideas?? also, do i need to replace all the o-rings?? or just the ones that were taken out??

Thanks for the diagram, but it didn't really answer my question that much. I guess I will get this figured out somehow. Tomorrow is the big day for the project, putting it back together and putting the entire dash back. Tidious work, but I think I will enjoy it. ha.
Replace any o-rings you find, especially the ones at the bulkhead between the engine compartment and the inside of the vehicle. I would try and use some type of insulating wrap from home depot or something. to help keep it cool.
