I listed my Audi lease because I decided it makes more sense to drive my other car and use the money to instead pay off student loans. However, I am getting cold feet at the prospect of letting someone take over my lease, because Audi policy is that I would continue to be liable if the person I transfer the lease to does not make good on his/her obligation. Thus, if they go over the lease mileage or wreck it and don't pay, Audi can come after me.

Has anyone had any experience with Audi lease transfers that would put my fears to rest, or that would warn me the risk is not worth it?

 

Not only can they come after you if they don't pay for accidents or what not, if they don't make thier payments on time or not at all YOUR credit rating takes a hit not thiers. Don't give your lease to someone un-less you trust them.

 

Yikes! Didn't realize it put me that much at risk. Thanks for the tip. I think I am better just riding the lease out another 14 months and enjoying it.
