I tested things this morning and the fan doesn't work at all.

I disconnected the fan power connector and tested the voltage without a/c (was 0) and with a/c (was 14v). The fan is probably dead.

The next question is where do I get a replacement from? ECS has one listed (ES#1693) but they say it is only a replacement for Valeo fans. Not others. How do I know if mine is Valeo without removing the whole front of the car (which I will have to do when I replace it anyway)?
You should be able to see Valeo stamped into the center of the fan when looking at it with a flash light and a mirror. I don't really know where you can get an aftermarket condenser fan sorry..[:'(]

I just finished pulling the old fan out. It is dead. When I got it out small pieces of magnet came falling out. It was a bitch to remove as I did this without pulling the bumper off and moving the radiator frame forward. I decided to cut the old fan wire out as the new fan comes with a new wire anyway. I will probably have to pull the bumper off when the new fan arrives as I will need to re-wire the whole thing and it goes under the main fan.

I ordered a new Valeo fan (yes, it was a valeo) fro ECS tuning. It was $149 + shipping.

BTW, thanks for your help. It helped me diagnose the problem. I think it is possible the A/C pressure switch is melfunctioning as well but I can get it locally at the dealers if it is. First I will get the fan in.

I have replaced the fan yesterday. Even managed to do it without removing the front bumper. What I did is loosen everything enough to pull the radiator frame just enough to slide the fan back in place and install it. It's a little cooler these days so we will see if this is the only reason it wasn't working but I believe it is.

Thanks for the help.
