Calling all K04 Audis
Okay in a little over 24 hours I am having a k04 put in my car with k04 file and tip chip. Now I know this topic has been beaten to death but I have to bring it up again. All you K04 guys, is all the time, money and effort for the K04 really worth it? What were your guys first impressions when you got yours installed? I have had the K04 sitting in a box in the garage for 3 months and as it is the biggest mod that will have been done to my car as of yet, I'm high on thoughts of ripping it down streets at WOT with the turbo screaming and exhaust roaring. God I need to get this over with. HAHA Anyway please feed me your guys first reactions.
A lot of others on these boards will so not to and tell you to go for the BT. (Yes KO4 is bigger but normally isnt concidered a BT). I personaly think the K04 is the best choice for me. The folowing are my reasons and yours may differ.
1. K04 setup is cheaper and easier to install. I was able to to it myself with out having to bring it to a mechanic.
2. I did not have to add a FMIC, this goes with the cheaper too but I didnt want to because I prefer not to look like I have modifications. Less cop harrasment.
3. I have an Tiptronic which I maybe could go with a smaller BT but really would be risking it.
4. I LOVE the lower end torque in this turbo, it sure has a lot of it. The KO4 accelerates a bit faster at the lower ends than the BTs but the BT;s beat it in the end when it runs out of juice. The higher end I think will get me into more trouble so I rather have the lower.
Im also not one for racing and more for my own enjoyment. I dont need that overall top speed or the big specail system to make myself happy.
