Default Cam chain

Searched it up a little bit, still kind of confusing. At idle(when my car worked) it seemed to be a bit noisy, when it was taken in i was told it was a result of wear on the cam chain area. As im taking out the head, would it be a good idea to replace the chain, chain tensioner or both??

Any insight would be delicious.

check oil pressure. if up to par replace tensioner. chain should be fine. if oil pressure is low first try your oil pick up tube.

agreed. seafoam would be good. i saw no sludge residue in my head or in my pan. but the thing still went bad. sorry, seafoam might help. but sounds like you need a new tensioner. check oil pressure first!
