Default cam chain (timing chain)

hey guys, i seem to be getting a ticking noise from my cam chain at the back end of my engine. is this a problem, cause the ticking is driving me nuts. my lifters are making some noise as well. but ive been told by mechanics that if i change the oild frequently it should cause no problems. any suggestions about the cam chain?

yeah it is, I had that problem and there is a kit out there for the repair, it is a bit pricey though.

I think shop time and parts for my car came to $650ish It was a while ago i cannot remember if that is right or not but i am pretty sure.

is the chain tensioner an expensive job? my friend is a mechanic, but not for audis. would he be able to do the procedure or am i better off just having to pay for it?
