Can i change my idle speed?
Wow it's been a while since i've been on here 
98.5' A4 2.8l 30v. Just wondering if i can raise my idle to around 1k. does it require any special tools or how hard is it ?

I'm not sure if it would work with your car and I haven't had a chance to try it myself but the program that you can download using the link allows you to make some modifications using a Ross-Tech Vag-Com cable. !!!try at your own risks!!!

if your dbc you should just have to adjust the cable so that the valve stays open a little more. If your car uses an IAC(Idle air control valve) you'ss need to adjust it through the computer
