I'm looking for a cost efficient way to lower my B5. So I found these H&R springs on ebay for around $250. Are they a good buy and is it okay to lower the car this way or will I mess ep the shocks??

stock, nonsport shocks will die within a few weeks/couple months with aftermarket springs...sport shocks seem to last up to a year max....the best thing to do is save up for the shocks and do both at the same time..you can get a good package deal for 600 bucks with springs and shocks.

 

Yea, im lookin to do the same thing. But i have Sport Shocks and will only be lowering with the Comparative Sport Springs. Going with Race springs will lower the car more, but it'll also kill your shoucks alot quicker.
For now the springs are only temporary as I eventually want Race Springs w/ Grooved Shocks Combo or Coilovers.

 

yup thats what I thought you were gonna say.. I might not even lower it at all. I will have to wait until the 18's get on there.

when i did my suspension i put the bilstein touring cup struts front and rear with intrax springs lowering about 2.25 front and 2 in the rear. My shocks stil feel like they did when i first got the and its been about a year so far. Rougher ride than stock springs but looks pretty nice sitting on the wheels.

 

i lowered my car with NS race springs. Stock struts. i got them for 200$

 

sport or non sport? how have your struts held up...and how long have you had em on for?

 

will mess up shocks over time but not immediatly
