Default Can you calibrate the speedometer???

I was wondering if calibrating the speedometer can be done by computer etc??? I got my new 2007 A4 and noticed the speedo is off on avg. 3 MPH to slow(60=57mph).
My dealer told me it can't be done, which sounds like BS.
Thanks Guys/Gals

BUMP No replies in over a day.

Can you recalibrate using Vag Com? I thought you may be able to adjust for when you buy larger rims.
Someone that knows more about it, try to help out.

Hey, how do you know it is off by 3 mph anyway? I wonder what a speedometers +/- tolerance is.

Bro its like that in almost every car...bigger/smaller rims could easly cause this... Alot of cars come stock with a spedo thats off a little almost ever car I drive is off by a little... My friend has a radar.. We used to have RC cars that would haul *** so we would track the speed with it..

Yeah, I noticed this when I was getting my car smogged
(06 A4 also)
I have the stock 17" rims, but the dealers offer many rims in different sizes, so that could throw it off too.

Only thing is, when I was smogging, I was looking at the computer and my tach, it was off by a little.
15mph on the computer read like 17 for me.

ya i guess going 18 over could not be caused by larger wheels

who cares... I never drive at the limits.. I dont care if I am off 5mph high or low. Still if cop see me, I'll get the ticket

i really dont think 3 mph off at 60 is anything to be concerned over. and i dont think its worth spending any money to get fixed. also its a nice little excuse for cops. ive used it a few times and each time the cop took 5 mph off the speeding ticket
