Car overheating, low coolant and smoke
OK found out where the leak was coming from. There seems to be a hole in the elbow under the CTS housing. Is this what you meant JohnnyBravo? How do I fix this?
Also, the car is not under warranty so I highly doubt the dealership will fill it up for free. How is the car giving me problems? Well I bought it used last month and so far have had to fix a good amount of problems on it.

Maybe its giving you problems because you ignore the initial signs of something bad thats going on such as warning lights and gauges that are reading abnormaly?Hopefuly there is no permanant damage due to your neglect. Didnt you have the car looked over by someone who knows what they are doing before purchasing? Well, whats done is done... Good luck with it. You can put water in it for now as long as outside temps arent freezing, but when you get the correct g12 youll have to do a flush after you fix the leak... So i wouldnt recomed doing anything but fixing the leak and then adding the correct fluid/water ratio. Dont take any more chances, find a ride to work if you can.
If your car begins to overheat STOP DRIVING IT IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT just blow it off as a bad sensor. Audi's and BMW's are very susceptible to blowing head gaskets due to an overheating engine. The overheating may be a thermostat, but as you stated before, your thermostat isn't bad.
Next time don't ever just keep driving when the temp. guage goes into the redzone, unless you wanna pay upwards of $1,200 for a new head gasket on the engine!
just my .02 cents.
