I have a 2003 Audi A4 Avant V6 3.0L and my check engine light has come on a couple times so far. I am looking to just buy a scanner and im not sure which one to buy. My parents have volvos and I hopefully want to be able to check their cars too. I was thinking of buying this one...

Can't tell if you ever got an answer....I am tired of paying people to look at my daughter's A4 everytime a light comes on.

Did you buy this item...how did it work out for you? Where did you get a list of codes so you can trouble shoot? Lot's of questions but thanks in advance.

Does anyone know where I can buy a car engine scanner from?
I have a problem with my car, it's a 2001 mondeo, I know there is something wrong with the engine, and the manage engine light is on, I've heard that you can get scanners to plug into the car to see whats causing the engine problem. Does anyone know where I can buy one, and how much they normally are, and how they work? I can't afford to have all the engine stripped down. thanks
