are the prices for the hoods really that much..i think at awe they are priced at 1100...if thats really what carbon fiber hoods cost for audis boy what an increase over 400 for the ole hondas..

 

Why a carbon hood?

 

i got my VIS carbon hood brand new for about 500. i would never pay 1100 for a hood

 

how was the fit of the carbon hood? OEM ish?

 

well im not sure cause.........i got my hood and most of my front end parts after some guy hit me a week after i bought my car, the damage was pretty good and it was close to being totald. the fitment could be better but i cant say if its the hood or my car.

 

Details....I have not seen a carbon hood that fits the same as an OEM. The weight on the a4 between an oem hood 37 lbs, carbon from 12 lbs (APR $1300 ) to 30 lbs (crap carbon hoods $600)

 

awetuning..... and you can buy a cf hood for 600 bucks but its just the top shell which is cf but theres not weight reductiion thats the reason there priced to ******* high is cause there actually a real cf hood. If its for looks then yeah get a cheap one but for if your actually trying to shave off weight your going to pay a pretty penny.

 

well kelly i paid under 600 for my hood and it is not crap just cause it isnt from awe, it only weighs 14 pounds or somthin like that and it is deff grade A quailty

 

i was not trying to say that yours was not a quality hood, i was just saying that they are real expensive to save a little weight. Did you paint the hood on your car?

 

no it is not painted it just matches the black real good, VIS is one of the best carbon hoods u can get for the money
