Personally, I think they look best on black or silver cars.

Unless you can get a cf hood with some of the weave to match the paint, I don't think it looks good on other colors.

I did see one with a yellow weave that looked very tempting!!

i've seen the sides left cf too... and i don't like it... i really like the middle part left cf though, especially on a black car. but, IMO, it's still kinda rice.

i really like the cf hood on black cars....i like that pic that panda posted too, i haven't seen that done before, they're either fully painted or unpainted when i see them...my only beef with cf hoods is the fitment, although i've yet to see an audi with one. i've only seen japanese imports with them so far, and a few domestics, and i'm always disappointed with the fitment, it never fails...

Very true about fit.
Regardless, you definitely need the hood locks as Panda suggested.
