took my car for the oil light... they said since we just bought it, they are gonna give it a run through to check all the basics... they are gonna take a look at the cruise control, and all the other stuff i noticed, but im not too worried about all that stuff, i just want the oil pressure problem dealt with...

 

Shon, I'm not sure if your oil pressure issue is the same as mine was but here's the scoop on mine. My sump screen was clogged and I had to have the entire oil pump assembly replaced. My engine is an ATW, I believe you can buy the pickup pipe with the sump screen only for the AEB engine. Have them checck your sump screen if you can. You can see it by taking off the oil level sensor and shining a light up into your oil pan. It's a fairly common problem with the 1.8t's.

 

well, how much would the oil pump assembly cost out of warrenty?

were gonna try to get the dealer we bought the car from to foot the bill because they pretty much guarenteed the car was flawless except for the radio (which is now fixed)

its at a different dealership getting worked on...

 

The pump assembly is about $200.00 it's the labor that gets you. I think my entire bill was about $850.00.
