car's lost its kick
I've got a 2000 1.9 TDi Avant, it's chipped but I'm not sure about the make (there when I bought it). This morning I was driving in third gear, went to overtake a car and realized the acceleration was really slow. I've been driving on and off all day and when the car has had a break (over an hour) the acceleration is OK but after about 10 minutes it's goes sluggish again. Anyone had this problem?
Thanks for the advice.
My Czech g/f has been on a Czech audi forum and some of the guys there suggested downloading VAG software for a laptop that can be used to diagnose the trouble. I was thinking of posting the link here but I'm not sure of the forum rules as to links to illegal software. So if it's allowed and a useful link just say the word.

Oh and I have posted quite a few links on this forum. I think they don't mind as long as your aren't associated with them. Everyone has their preferences of vendors when purchasing items and many post their opinions.

It is hard to say without driving your car but, How is the power at nite when it's cool? Try driving late at nite and get on it a few times to see how power is when the air is cool and dense.

This is the link the czech guys posted for the software:

I know it's Russian but I promise there are no pop ups or redirects to **** sites. I've already checked whether it's dodgy.
The car's been through a lot the last 6 months. We've just had one of the longest winters ever with temps down to -40. Now the temp is hitting 25 so it is hot out. I'll see how it goes today and take the car out for a spin tonight to see if it performs better under cooler conditions. I think you guys could be right about the heat. The temperature gauge hasn't worked for 8 months (sigh - I really love driving Audis but sometimes they are so bloody crap). I did take it to an audi repair place, they did the software test but couldn't find the problem so I never know how hot the engine gets. I drive with blind faith.
Anyway, thanks for the help guys.
