CEL after chip and intake

Default CEL after chip and intake

i got my car flashed and got it a evo intake. it ran great for 5hrs then the cel light came. tyrol tunning fixed my maf and it ran great for 5 hrs n then again antother cel. they vagcom'd it and the code is 17536 fuel trim: bank 1 system too lean! wats goin on is it a vacum leak or is it my mass air flow, some one help id appretiate it.

Well if its too lean its not getting enough fuel for the amount of boost you're putting into it. So obviously it was caused by chipping it. I'm no expert or anything so you may want to post more details for others. How many miles? What year? What maintenance has been done? etc...

its an 03 a4 1.87 37000 miles thanx for the help um thats weird cuz every1 is telln me its the maf.

Well it could be the MAF, but without the chip you wouldn't be shoving as much air into it so I doubt you'd have the problem. The chip most likely caused the problem to show up, but what the actual problem is, I have no clue. Wish I could help ya more. You could always try putting the original intake back on though.

Did a shop do the intake or did you? you might have a vaccum leak

It's more than likely the Chip... Typically when a MAF isn't reading correctly, it will run rich, and will run very rich when letting off the gas. So it sounds like you've got a problem with your ECU, it sounds like they chipped it for the wrong set-up perhaps.

Well if you have the stock BOV, (that only holds 10psi before bleeding off) it well give you a lean fault. just a thought....
