CEL + Power loss + no codes WTF
So, I'm driving today down to Providence and it's cold and rainy/snowy. I'm going about 70 just cruising along and I give my car a bit of gas (5th gear) just to pass someone and out of no where, it felt like my engine shut off for a second, I got a CEL, and then it went back to normal. My lights didn't go off, my gauges didn't drop to 0 (including the tach) and when it went back to normal, it was 100% fine. I scanned it for codes and I've got nothing other than a stored code for idle speed too low.

Sounds like a failing turbo, or a boost leak to me. If that happens theres not enough air for the fuel, and your motor floods with gas and trys to die out, feels like a complete loss of power. then after the excess gas clears itself out(only takes a second) your runnign good again. If you dont have one, you may want to get a boost gauge and make sure your stilll making perfect boost.
also the CEL usually wont stay on for a situation like that because its such a quick spurt. I have a BOV so if i dont drive ti right and the BOV releases the air i loose the boost, the engine floods, and the same thing happens. normally no codes for it eaither.
when the IAC has a problem it alters the load sensors but itsminor problem at speedbut will be noticeable at idle then it could be the IAC needs cleaningor the butterfly valve is sticking in the throttle body due to heat
I had been driving for about 45 minutes on the highway when it happened, and the outside air temp was pretty stable so I don't think it's a 'shock' to the O2 sensor. As far as a boost leak or failing turbo, I don't have a boost gauge but my car pulls just as hard as it always did and there are no apparent changes in the engines performance.

Then one day when I was replacing a new air filter element, I found some cracks along the air intake boot and had it replaced at once, needless to say the problem went away and the car continue to drive as good as new -- even at 120,000+ miles.
So, check for cracks along those plastic parts, you'll be surprised how easy of a fix it is.
