Center Cluster Dash Lights go dim?

Center Cluster Dash Lights go dim?
My display on my 2000 Audi A4 1.8t is out in the center cluster (Above the steering wheel). It displays Radio Channel, Outside temperature, etc. It actually in colder conditions is readable but as it gets warmer or is on for an extended drives the light gets so dim you can hardly read it. Is there a bulb that you can replace to correct this? Seems weird it works pretty good when you first start the car and then slowly fades to almost unreadable (Usually top starts fading first until it is mostly unreadable). Seems like it is the worst when it is very hot outside. Any ideas what I can do to brighten this back up? - Thanks Scott

RE: Center Cluster Dash Lights go dim?
Ya sounds like you are talking about the "LCD" screen thing. its a terrible design by audi and last i knew there was a class action lawsuit against them about it. Probably wont go anywhere though. My pixels fade in hot weather too. For instance when i had a brake light burn out it read "l ak' Lioht !"

RE: Center Cluster Dash Lights go dim?
I have a 99.5 that does exactly the same thing when it is hot the upper display fades, but in the evenings and at night it is crystal clear. Mine seems to be directly related to the temp out side even after the interior cools off from the AC it is still dim.
