Certified car - repainted?
I bought my car (2002 Audi A4 3.0)1.5 years ago at an Audi stealership and it came with the CPO warranty. Now I am trying to sell the car and went to CarMax to see what I could get for it. I though since they are selling the cars for $17-$19k, I would get a little under that or at least somewhere around retail value. They came back with an extremely low value stating that 2 or more panels on my car have been repainted, which includes the hood, and both fenders.
Can Audi sell a car that has been repainted like this? isnt that one of their requirements is to check all of this?

Apparently Audis CPO certification isnt that rigorous. I found a CPO A4 a couple weeks ago that I was really considering to buy and when I got the car fax it said it had been in an accident and had to be towed, I was like wtf is this. I called AOA and they said that a car can be certified if it has been in an accident which I think is complete crap. So I dont see any reason why they wouldnt certify a car that had a couple panels repainted.
