Changed Fuel Filter and Oil This Morning
Ok I was going to do a DIY article for the fuel filter, but for FWD its stupid easy. Its located in front of the passenger side rear wheel under the car. It has nipples on it and the hoses slide off of them after taking the clamps off. Its that easy. I know the quattro model is another story - Have to drop the gas tank a little and the lines that go to it are different. So it took me about 15- 20 mins to do, and most of that time was getting those stupid one time use Audi clamps off. So easy. I havent driven the car yet to see if there is any difference because im dirty as hell. I'll post later to note any differences. Hopefully there will be. Changed the baby's oil with good ol Amsoil 5w40 euro too. Yay.
Going to do the valve cover gasket tomorrow.
Going to do the valve cover gasket tomorrow.
I am also changing my oil this morning, but I am cheap I used 5w-40 mobil 1 full synthetic. I also changed my control arm that went out and the cv joint is monday so I'll keep you guys informed if I run into problems with those clams as I hear they are a biotch.
79k miles. It seems to be smoother. Less pedal effort to get up and going. And I also noticed better performance while having the AC on. Im going to cut open the old fuel filter tomorrow just to see how clogged it is because blowing through it isnt really a good indicator. I love it though, every little thing i have done to the car lately has made improvements and i feel like its running at its best potential. Went on a 180 mile round trip today and its running like a top. I dont know though how many times today I heard "JASON, you don't need to go that fast!" from the wifey. There is just something anbout once you get up to 80mph the urge to go 90+mph is so irresistable. Love the way this car pulls between 80 and 100... Its like a hot spot, and thats even with the AC on. Its no 300hp monster, but driving this car never gets old.
