Default Was charcoal ever a color in 2000?

I have this 2000 1.8t AWD with 105,000 miles on it that is not black, but very dark gray. I don't recall ever seeing one anywhere but the current owner says it was never painted. Was this a factory color back then?

P.S. It has all the options (cold, BOSE, and sport) and is great condition. What should I expect to pay?

volcano black is what you probably have, it's sort of like a gunmetal grey, very dark but not quite black (regular black is called brilliant black)

Ah, OK. Sounds like what is pictured in the pics. Are Audi's meeting their BB values these days? It seems most BB values are always higher than what people are willing to pay. Or am I off base with that?

i saw this one A4 on the way to the dealership today and it was such a different color.. i dunno what it was. it was like a copperish brown color, like a dark brown but had some fleck to it. its hard to explain (and the fact its 2:30am)... it was really cool looking though.

I'm about to take it for 9300 w/ 107k miles on it. Sound about right? It's in very good shape with a recent tune-up. I hope I'm not overpaying w/ the high miles.

You're FWD... apples to oranges dude. FWD's sell for thousands less than quattro cars, or at least they do up here. All of the cheapest a4's I've ever seen are ALWAYS FWD... looking for the catch forever, then it finally hits me.

And the colour in 2000 isnt called volcano, its called "ebony pearl effect" I have it, its alright. I prefer flat black though... and yeah, it is the SAME colour as volcano -- just renamed, presumably because audi guys got bored.
