It's most likely something wrong with the emissions. Take it to an auto parts store tomorrow and have the codes read. When you get them, post and we can tell you what might be wrong. You will soon come to love the CEL and become one with it... If it's just the CEL, it's probably not something serious.

Its hard to say, take it to somewhere like autozone and have them scan it, then come back here withe the code.

There is no way to even guess what it could be. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. If the car turns on and it runs fine, I would not worry about it.

i have the same prob. right now, personally i think that it's my O2 sensor because i gave the codes to the guys on the board and thats what i got. It could be something wrong with the cat. more than likely it's something small and easly fixed, but don't jinx your self.

i had the same thing happen to me on the 98 2.8q i just bought (w/100k miles)...the light came on the day after i bought the car, but then it didnt come on again that night and i havent seen it since (it's been about a week now)...i'm not sure what that means, but since i havent seen it since, i'm not worrying about it...as far as it being emissions related, check the warranty, it should still be covered by a govt mandated extended warranty (govt mandates extended warranties on emission parts, up to 7 years 70-80k miles i think, depending on the part)...the cat in my honda went bad after about 68k miles and 4 years, well after my regular warranty had expired and the dealer replaced it under the govt warranty
