check engine light

last week I went down to evolution motorsports to have my ecu flashed. Since I am a 2000 then have to bench flash my car and even though there is no soldering the ecu still needs to be removed. They had just moved into their new location (which is bitchin) and after they pulled my ecu realised they had no interenet the get the codes from the audi servers so they put my ecu back and told me to come back later in the week. Anyway since then my check engine light has been on and will not go away. It has been 6 days is this normal after removing the ecu

did they remove the ECU without taking the battery out if so the codes will be set and need clearing with the correct tools ( scanner/ VAG ) not a good idea to remove the ECU with battery still on tell them to use a laptop next time because the ECU doesn't need to come out

battery was still connected and he says in a 2000 the ecu needs to be removed.

show me a field full of bulls and you can guess what on the grass, the ECU isn't being chipped its being flashed

like I said he calls waht it needs a bench flash. I dont know why he said my year has to come out but newer ones dont

to do it right it needs to be done on a rolling road ( dyno ) anything else is a rip off

wait wait, can you better explain that. What do you mean it needs to be done on a dyno???? He said everything will be done with my ecu out of my car. Even though he does not have to solder anything.

that's simple, a dyno means the car is in motion on a rolling road and adjustments can be made to the ECU settings ( the car has a roll to play in this ) so just chipping/ flashing the ECU is a waste of time because the engine might not be up to it
