Check Engine Light Question
I took my car down to Autozone and used their nifty little tool to find out why my check engine light was on. It gave me the code P0116, with the description "engine coolant temp CKT range/perf" I went ahead and bought a new coolant temp sensor at my dealership ($40!!!) and a new o-ring, but i was wondering if anyone could help me out as to what exactly the description means, especially the "CKT range/perf" part. Thanks.
Bently Manual says:
"The malfunction "P0116 / 16500" is set as soon as the coolant temperature lies under 55C (131F) after engine start, but 18 minutes later the temperature has not risen to over 70C (158F)."
