Hey All,

2006 Audi A4 2.0T / 11,000 Miles.

Wife started complaining that the car was idling funny Tuesday this week. Yesterda a check engine light popped on. I'm going to take it to the dealer this monday...but if it's a simple fix I'd like to take that route.

Any thoughts? Car is definately idling very rough.

 

Take it to Autozone and get the codes read. Impossible to tell without them. They will scan it for free.

 

um, isnt that covered under warannty?? *sp??*

 

Check for a vacuum leak.

 

Perhaps its different with electronic throttles, but I had a very similar issue with a VW Jetta, and the throttle body was dirty with carbon deposits. It got much better after cleaning it.

So you could check for dirty intake, T.b., ...

 

Yeah...of course still covered by warranty. Just wanted to see if anybody had experienced something like this already and / or this was a quick fix. If it were my Syclone I'd just throw in a new set up plugs real quick to see if it was fouled. Though...this car is far from that simple.

 

get the codes pulled like was mentioned previously then post the codes here.... No point guessing what could be wrong when you can find out exactly with 5 minutes at autozone.

 

warranty issue, don't touch it yourself or let any one else touch it you could void the warranty

 

I don't think there are any autozones in Germany.
