mine is a toss up everyday, comes and goes. i have that horrible idle problem that i cant seem to fix. and now it has been dieing in mid travel. 110k

soft codes dont turn the CEL on but an intermediate collective code could make intremediotflash meaning a problem is about to happen

2001 1.8t.....43000 miles

4 times this year. Mostly due to bad maf (didn't know) so i thought it was other things. nothing big

its a 3 times strike so it could be down to fuel, codes are stored and when it exceeds 3 times its logged as a fault but in most cases it just needs clearing

just once this year, two weeks ago in ocean city, it popped up for no reason, turned car off, checked oil, wiggled some wires, started it back up, cel gone.. i need to check for stored codes, because it got me parinoid

Mine's been on solid ever since I took out the secondary air pump. Flashed a couple times whena coil pack went bad.

2002, 1.8T, 31k miles

Only CEL I've gotten was for a small EVAP leak which turned out to be the purge valve. Easy DIY fix, replaced valve, cleared code, all is well.
