the plan is ( this plan is for cost effective , keep that inmind ) , and its a 2.8 so not much here
1: drop in k&n ... cost effective
2: snub ... of course
3: exhaust
now the fork in the road: exhausts get expensive, i'm gonna do it custom but the muffler is where i am stuck. i want borla, but expensive, i heard a flowmaster once and i actualy thought it sounded alright ... any of you heard flowmaster on an a4 before ? ... or is it too ricy... i cant remember
also ... would high flow cats be a must ?
4: short shift .... just an idea not necessary
5: new throttle body ... think its worth it ? if so what ?
6: cams ... worth it ?
7: chip ... giac
8: clutch .... sugestions welcome

first i'll do the k&n , snub, and exhaust or chip.

i got a free dyno commin and am gonna run my car before and after ... i'm guessing a 40-50 hp increase

 

What kind of budget are we looking at here. If we are talking stages, you will want to get the engine to breath better first. An engine is just a big air pump, the more air in = more power.

 

alot of those wont increase hp, but will giv eit more power thru out the powerband. The chip (only give 10) but will help alot, exhuast same, intake? The cams dont seem to do much b/c if they did alot of ppl with 2.8s would be all over them. A stage 2 clutch will be fine. Throttle body (12v? or 30v?) not sure will do much either. The car will have a much smoother power badn but peak hp wont go up much.
