today on my way to work i had a little scare i was getting off the highway and i tapped the gas to go up a slight hill on the off ramp and i heard a loud bang follwed by a ting tingand the car shuts off i was thinking it was a timing belt (done 15000 ago)or even worse i blew a motor so i pull over and i don't see any oil spots on the road and none under my car,so i open the hood to find that some how the hose clamp that holds the hose that goes from the intercooler to the throttle body broke and the hose fell off. I wasreleaved that it was a quick and cheap fix so i slid the hose back on and drove it really slow for about 2 block where an auto zone is and got a 2.00 hose clamp put it on in 2 mins and off to work and i still made it on time. so now i think im going to replace all the hose clamps so this doesn't happen again. so you fellow audi drivers might want to do the same.

 

lol - same thing happened to me a week ago - clamp didn't brake but the TBB came off and scared the crap out of me

 

yea it sucks im glad it happened when i was close to a parts store if it would of happened during one of my moutain fun runs i would of been screwed

 

I check my clamps every year. Surrising how the little buggers loosen.
