So I was driving back from work at 4:30AM and I take a road that travels thru the everglades far away from city or gas stations. My car started to act up and when I pulled over I noticed the car on IDLE was misfiring and it would rev the rpm's from 1800 to 2500 by it self. the whole time it was just going up and down so I was scared to drive the car not knowing what the problem was so I got a flashlight and started to look around the engine and notices this hissing sound coming from the rear of the engine near the firewall.

I went to touch the check valve and it just broke into pieces.

so now what? I don't know what this hose does so I don't want to drive the car.




So I found a Bic Pen took the ink stick out and cut the tube to about 1in. and created a pipe in place of the broken check valve. Car ran better then ever.

Now my question is

what they hell is this check valve? what does it do for the car? and is it safe to drive around with my BIC PEN MOD?

Also is this a part that I can get at an auto part or do I need to see the rip-off audio dealer?
I also noticed other check valves that look like they are decaying should I change them all?

Lose the Bic pen mod and get the part from the dealer. If its a basic check valve then you can get it from ecs tuning or purems.com for less probably.
