So, i just bought my first ever Audi, an A4 early 99 1.8T quattro. I dida KO4 turbo upgrade on and put a unitronic chip that a local guy claims to be better than anything else out there. This chip seems to be more of a head ache. it first blew my old ko3 and now is not performing to its specification.

The question is, what is the best chip for my car? I am planning on puttinga techtoni exhaust system.

I am not to knowledgeable about this things and since the audi dealer said that my turbo was about to die (118K) i decided to go with KO4 upgrade, was that a bad move?

 

are you saying that you upgraded your software to unitronic k04 software without upgrading your turbo to a k04? your post kind of contradicts itself.

 

ok - I think I might understand - you upgraded your software to unitronic k03 software and you think this had somthing to do with your k03 going out. so your wondering, since you've upgraded to a k04 turbo, what software to use?

 

aight. Let me clear this out. The old ko3 turbo was about to die, and i wanted more power out of my A4. I replace the turbo for a new KO4 and got a KO4 chip from unitronic.

 

if you already have software then whats the question?

 

Im confused beyone belief... But I'm pretty sure there is no unitronic k03 or k04software. I thought they aimed more at BT's.

not only I think that that unitronic software blew my ko3, but the new software i put from unitronic for my KO4 is not working properly. at the beggining it had amazing power and I was very happy but now its probably producing about 5 psi of boost. I am just starrting to doubt unitronic
