I just got a K04-015 and im deciding between APR & GIAC chips right now for my 2001 A4 1.8tqm

GIAC or APR?

Both gains are about the same, but which will work better with the KO4-015?

The reason I ask is because I can get a good deal on an APR but I've been told to go GIAC?

Whats ur thoughts.

 

I havent heard of APR making KO4 software... was I sleeping under a rock?

Why haven't the guys over at APR made software for the K04, is it anywhere in the future?

 

as for the apr deal it didnt go through i guess it sold.

Ryan, APR doesnt make k04 software. Some guys on the zine ran k03 apr chip tuning on their k04 and blew motors. Dont do that. You have to go GIAC. A few other companies have software but nothing compares.

APR has done some testing with software, I believe a guy on AZ is running it in his b6. I doubt they will come out with it, especially for b5s. B5 stuff is basically done. They said over a year ago they were near being done on a k04 chip but still nothing. I wouldnt count on it.

 

the gains arent the same, theyre different. GIAC is better with the upgrades though.
