i was looking at the neuspeed instalation got a b5 chip. and they are saying that the stcok chip has to be sent to neuspeed in order to install the aftermarket chip? why is that and do i have to wait for them to get the stock chip to put the aftermarket in and just let my car sit? somone plese let me know

 

Because they need your ECU to install the software.

 

for b5's they say u want the giac chip. search around a bit new member threads lots of info on chips out there

 

APR in my humble opinion.
I would recommend sticking with a program that can be supported by a local tuner. For example, future mods such as a test pipe will require additional files - do you want to have to send in your ecu everytime you need an upgrade?
plus, when / if it goes goofy, you are really screwed. stay local.

 

How much does it cost to overnight an ECU? I know it will vary from your location but I'm just looking for an estimate. GIAC does not pay for shipping and I don't thing goapr.com will either. But ECS will give you free overnight to them and back if you buy your apr chip through them. What is the value?
