i asked this question in a previous post. i want a chip soon. if u have an apr and like and or have a giac plz reply. tell me what yall think and if yall have test drove a car with both chips. i seriously am in a huge dilemma and i want to make the right choice

 

i was also told that for 2001s i should go for the giac-x?

 

well i had the same dilemma for my A4.. I ended up going with the APR Stage 1+ with a Diverter valve (you must have with chip), enjoyed it ever since..Highly recomend their product!!! plus you can turn off the chip and noone will ever know its there!

 

if you have a 2001 the giac X-chip will rock your socks.

 

I have a GIAC with a DV and I'm going to put in a plug for GIAC. Plus they have an upgrade program if you ever were to throw a K04 in there and wanted a new chip and file to run that.

 

Is the x-chip different than regular GIAC? Is it just the most updated software?

 

GIAC is awesome. I've had it 2 weeks now. I chose it b/c I thought I wanted to upgrade to the K04 program and use their trade in deal. Now I'm thinking bigger turbo but we'll see .

 

APR gives higher performance on a stock car. GIAC has many many more options and with GIAC you can have your chip tuned to match your ot modifications i believe.

 

Both great. I would choose APR but that's just my personal preference. I have heard great things about the GIAC and how well a friends 01 has responded to it. It certainly gives you more options going with GIAC. Good luck.

 

The x-chip is GIAC's chip for '01's. You can only get the x-chip if you have an '01. It boosts a couple more psi's than the other chips. If you have an '01 the x-chip is clearly the best.
