Default Chip question

I need to learn that if I bought a KO4 (AWE) kit for my 99 1.8 TQ and install it as is ..do I have to tune something for working ?whats the users advice ?

The AWE kit comes with an upgraded ECU (this is for tuning). The kit is all you will need.

you need to do a diverter valve with a new chip otherwise your turbo wont kick in like its supposed to...

tnkx guys for fast responce I know all things that KO4 includes but for example if I install all that parts by my self and turn the ignition on ,will it start ? ) couse I have do it by my self , there is no dealer here.....

I have APR 93 octane chip. I didnt think APR removes the top speed limiter. Does it ?
I know it didnt change redline.

YEs it does. Prior to my chip i couldnt go above 135 (I think) I didnt think it took it off but I knew GIAC did. My dealer then informed me that it did take it off. I took one trial run and hit mid 140s so I can vouch that it does take it off.

It will work fine with stock programming. You just won't be utilizing all of the ko4's potential.

guys, don't threadjack this dude....the K04 kit is a direct bolt-on, it is something you can do on your own. it can be difficult if you don't have any experience with working on cars. here are two write-ups that will help you out...

It does change the redline to 7500rpms...and removes the governor

thnx bentframe this link is very usefull... by the way AWE's K04 kit that mensioned 235 hp is it on the wheels or on the crank.
