Default Chip Question - Need Advice

I currently have a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Auto Tiptronic. I have the Audi Certified Pre-Owned warranty for another 3 years or 52,000 miles. I am thinking abouting chipping my car and just got a quote from a dealer in NJ.

Revo Chip - 499
Diverter Valve - 160
SPS1(Disables the Chip) - 199

Total with installation - $858

The dealer did not recommend the GIAC chip. He said he had problems with it(?) and he recommended the Revo chip.

I am new to this stuff so I need some advice on the chip and also if this is a good deal. All comments and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

giac and apr are both really good..revo is still pretty new...i think your mechanic was BSing you about giac chips having problems...if you go with apr there is an option to set your car back to stock settings without spending the extra 200 bucks. also, you can get a 710N (stock TT dv) for about 35 bucks at a dealership..if all you're doing is the chip, that dv will be fine for you...

I just picked up a 2005 A4 1.8T Tip. After a bit of homework, I've decided to go with the APR stage I. From what I've read and all the conversations I've had with users, there's no complaints. That's $499 with 'valet' (shutoff) mode, and another $149 for the warranty stealth mode.(Dealer will never know...LOL) All I need to do is drop by with my checkbook at the APR sanctioned tuner and wait 45 minutes or so...
Maybe next week. Hey, It'll have 500 miles on it by then...

499 (chip) + 149 (stealth deal) + 35 (710N diverter valve) = 683...saves you almost 200 bucks...plus, most people on this forum would agree that apr is better than revo...but that's just personal opinion..

Is that 710N (TT) diverter valve really necessary for a low milage '05 1.8T? If so, no problem..

Yep, I'm planning on it, and like I said no problem, but my queastion is why? Is the new, stock 1.8T DV not up to a little extra boost?

PS, notice you're 'Norcal" (me too)...Any experience with 2Bennett in Davis?

My car has 80K on it and according to the Audi Mechanic the only thing that is wrong is a few oil seals.
Should I be boosting my performance with this kind of mileage? The DV is completely necessary to do
the APR chip? I can just do the chip right? Or do I have to do other stuff....are the results they post with
an exhaust or just straight chip?
