Chipped by APR!!!
Well I finally gave in to the temptation. Stopped by ECS Tuning and had my ECU flashed. Since they are running an October special I decided to go all out. They installed the stock program, 91 program, 93 program, and the 100 octane race program.
Let me tell you I had no idea how much fun this thing could be. The 2.0T is an awesome engine just begging to be tuned. I think I managed to break all 4 wheels loose in the rain going around a corner! I can't wait to fill up with some race gas. APR hasn't released HP numbers for the 100 octane yet but one report said he was able to beat a cobb tuned wrx. Next up might be APR's new exhaust system which will be released soon. They say with their special exhaust program you can see another 20 hp on top of the chip's 241hp.
Anyway just wanted to share my experience. I think I love my car more every day.

Not sure, i've never driven a chipped B5. I had the 12 valve. The new software was around $749 including tax and install. The special is buy two programs get all for free. So the first was $499 and the second was $150.
I'm having mine done next month, I think... unless I decide to do it sooner to take advantage of the special. Definitely will be keeping the stock program as one of the selections because I think that 241HP and almost 300 lb. of torque might get a little tiresome in the snow.
My only reservation remains the possible ramifications re: warranty service. My dealership is pretty cool, but... ya never know.

Jest...Excellent! Glad you are liking it...how do you switch programs, is it controlled via some type of switch system that they installed, or is it controlled via an already existing interface (cruise control)?
To change programs. I just hold down the set button on the cruise control till the CEL flashes. It will flash 1 per second for program one, then if i hold it longer it starts to blink twice a second for program two. Then I let go to select it. Turn the key off and back on and the CEL will flash until the selected program is loaded to the ecu. Then it's good to go.
Quartz05, if you are concerned about the dealership finding out you can have your APR dealer reflash your ECU exactly back to stock. Then once your dealer visit is over you go back and they reflash it for you.
